History of the Building
When the Old Post Office was originally built and opened in 1903 it was a landmark building for Sunderland, built by Sir Henry Tanner in Jacobean Style.

The award-winning Old Post Office, which sits at the heart of the historic quarter of Sunniside, has been carefully transformed into 32 stylish one and two bedroom apartments. It is quite simply unique in terms of its architectural style, location, quality of specification and finish, each creating a mix of old and new and is Sunderland’s first real icon building of the 21st Century.

This Grade II listed building has wonderful views across Sunderland and benefits from some beautiful original features which have been incorporated into the modern space. The building was even recognised by the Watson Burton Landmark Awards in October by receiving the Residential Development Award.

This property is also available under our rent to buy scheme. This allows the tenant to rent a property for a length of time with the option to buy it outright at the end of the rental period (typically three to five years, at a price agreed when you first moved in).
